Riyadh: The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) on Tuesday convened a meeting of international geological survey authorities held during the Future Minerals Forum 2026 in Riyadh. The meeting provided a platform to enhance cooperation and align the efforts of industry experts to address challenges facing geological survey operations globally.
According to Saudi Press Agency, SGS Chief Executive Abdullah Al-Shamrani said the meeting, which brought together 45 entities from 36 countries, focused on improving access to vital geological data and maximizing its social and economic value. These efforts aim to support the responsible and sustainable development of Earth's resources, while strengthening the role of geological surveys as a pivotal tool in decision-making and investment attraction, he added.
