SGS and Iraqi Geological Survey Forge Cooperation Agreement for Earth Sciences Collaboration

Riyadh: The Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) and the Iraqi Geological Survey have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at enhancing integration and knowledge exchange in earth sciences through joint programs, studies, research, and projects, as well as the exchange of scientific and technical expertise to build capacity.

According to Saudi Press Agency, SGS Director General for Planning and Development Hassan Al-Marzouki stated that the areas of cooperation include expert and specialist exchange visits, support for individual research, implementation of joint training programs to build human capital, and the organization of conferences, workshops, and specialized sessions.

The signing of this agreement demonstrates the commitment of both sides to strengthening institutional cooperation and promoting joint scientific and research initiatives. It highlights the strategic importance of earth sciences in supporting economic development plans, ensuring the sustainability of mineral resources, and contributing to the national objectives of both countries.
