SFDA CEO Engages in Virtual GCC Food Safety Meeting

Riyadh: CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) Dr. Hisham Aljadhey participated in the 10th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Food Safety of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held virtually. The session was chaired by Bahraini Minister of Health Dr. Jaleela bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hasan, with the involvement of officials responsible for food safety across GCC countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions centered on several key topics, including the Unified Food Law for GCC countries, and addressed the latest developments in Gulf cooperation and coordination in food safety. The meeting highlighted the GCC's commitment to joint action and unified approaches to priority issues, emphasizing the strong ties and coordination among member states.

The 10th meeting further affirmed the integration among entities concerned with food safety and supported joint efforts to protect consumer health and improve food safety standards across GCC member states.
