The security services in Basra governorate seized thousands of tons of sulfur stored near residential areas, in a manner that violates safety and environmental conditions, in Safwan district, west of the governorate.

A security source stated, "The intelligence service, in conjunction with the Directorate of Organized Crime in Basra and the Directorate of Environment, managed to seize thousands of tons of sulfur stored near residential areas in a manner that violates the conditions of safety and the environment, under the sun's rays and randomly."
