SDRPY and Ministry of Sport Initiate Training Program for Yemeni Youth and Sports Staff

Riyadh: The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY), in cooperation with the Ministry of Sport, has launched a program aimed at building the institutional capacity of staff at the Yemeni Ministry of Youth and Sports.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the current phase of the training program spans from August 17 to 25, 2026, and targets 153 beneficiaries. It covers four key areas: community leadership, communication skills with media and partners, first aid, and camp and event management. This initiative marks the beginning of specialized training packages offered in collaboration with the Ministry of Sport as part of the broader institutional capacity-building program for the Yemeni Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The program's objective is to cultivate the professional and practical skills of the staff, bolster their readiness, and enhance their ability to manage youth and sports programs. This includes improving their communication with communities and partners, which is expected to boost institutional performance and the effectiveness of initiatives targeting youth and athletes in Yemen.

This initiative is part of SDRPY's ongoing support for the youth and sports sector through various projects and initiatives. These include the establishment and rehabilitation of sports facilities, as well as sponsoring and organizing tournaments and events. The overarching goal is to strengthen the community and development role of sports across Yemeni governorates.
