Riyadh: The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) today organized a forum at the AI Oasis in Riyadh to introduce the National Artificial Intelligence Risk Management Framework, bringing together more than 150 specialists from 45 public and private entities as part of the Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026. The forum aims to promote the responsible and secure use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and enhance national governance and risk management practices.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the forum reviewed the framework's main pillars, objectives, scope of application, and its role in supporting national entities. It focused on raising awareness of AI-related risks and enabling these entities to prepare for and manage such risks through a guiding methodology that improves governance, compliance, and trust in AI applications.
Discussions highlighted the importance of AI risk management as a critical component in the responsible adoption of smart technologies. The forum also presented the methodology for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring risks. Key risk categories were outlined, including technical, regulatory, ethical, and operational risks, emphasizing the role of institutional governance in strengthening compliance and effectively managing these risks.
