The Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) has achieved the ISO 42001:2023 certification for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems, becoming the first global entity to do so. This certification recognizes SDAIA's implementation of standards and practices related to artificial intelligence management. This achievement highlights Saudi Arabia's excellence in the field of data and artificial intelligence and its global leadership. President of SDAIA, Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, emphasized in a press release that SDAIA's success and continuous progress would not have been possible without the ongoing support of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SDAIA. This support has enabled SDAIA to serve as the national reference for data and artificial intelligence, regulating, developing, and managing these technologies in the Kingdom, ensuring the go vernance of artificial intelligence and elevating the Kingdom to a leading position among economies based on data and artificial intelligence technologies. Dr. Al-Ghamdi expressed pride in SDAIA's global accreditation, confirming the organization's tireless efforts in various aspects related to artificial intelligence systems, including planning, resource management, governance of operations, risk and opportunity management, analysis of associated impacts, achieving a balance between innovation and governance, integration with legislation related to data management and information technology, evaluation, and continuous improvement of its systems. He further mentioned that SDAIA achieved this global accreditation by applying several standards, including the application of policies related to artificial intelligence, internal organization through the implementation, operation, and organization of artificial intelligence systems, resources of artificial intelligence systems, assessment of the impact of these s ystems, governance of the systems lifecycle, and administrative guidelines for developing and using artificial intelligence systems, as well as managing relationships with stakeholders and customers. Dr. Al-Ghamdi emphasized that the ISO 42001 standard is the first standard in the world for an artificial intelligence management system, complementing the international accreditations obtained by SDAIA in data and artificial intelligence fields. This highlights SDAIA's commitment to the highest standards of quality and institutional excellence in various aspects of its work related to artificial intelligence, enhancing trust and recognition of SDAIA as a reliable and professional partner committed to the highest standards of quality in the efficiency of the operations it manages through its diverse digital products. He reiterated SDAIA's dedication to excelling in its scientific and professional performance and applying best practices in the use of data and artificial intelligence technologies to keep pace wit h the evolving technologies, which have become an integral part of all aspects of life, influencing the movement of countries, their development, and the growth of human societies.
