Scientific Assembly of Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine 2026 Kicks Off in Jeddah

Jeddah: The 11th Scientific Assembly of the Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine (SASEM 2026), organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Health with the theme "NextGen EM," kicked off on Friday in Jeddah and runs through September 14, bringing together leaders, experts, and emergency medicine practitioners from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad. According to Saudi Press Agency, the opening ceremony featured a visual presentation highlighting the development of emergency medicine in Saudi Arabia and prospects for using advanced technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) to accelerate diagnosis and response to crises and disasters. Assistant Minister of Health for Health Services Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali said the assembly has become one of the leading specialized events, with growing participation and continued advances in its scientific and technical content. He noted that its topics have evolved from basic electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation in the first edition to the role of AI in emerge ncy medicine today, reflecting the rapid advancement of the specialty and the Kingdom's healthcare system. He affirmed that emergency medicine is a key pillar of the healthcare system and has contributed to improving performance, service quality, and beneficiary experience. The assembly continues with a scientific program covering the latest developments in emergency medicine, professional practice, and ways to enhance the quality of patient care.
