Sultan bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian City (SBAHC) has signed a cooperation agreement with Clinica Espregueira, a Portuguese center specializing in sports medicine and accredited by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), aligning with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 aimed at supporting and developing the sports sector to promote a healthy society.
The agreement seeks to establish a comprehensive sports medicine center at SBAHC that is equipped with the latest medical technologies and staffed by highly skilled professionals. The two sides will also collaborate on conducting joint research to develop new treatment methods for sports injuries, improve performance assessment standards for athletes, and enhance their capabilities in various sports. Additionally, the center will be accredited as a specialized training facility.
The Secretary General of SBAHC, Prince Faisal bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, emphasized the significance of the agreement in fortifying the Kingdom’s position in glo
bal sports medicine. He noted that this cooperation represents a significant advancement in healthcare for athletes in the Kingdom, which will help improve their performance and increase their participation in local and international tournaments. This initiative comes alongside preparations to host the AFC Asian Cup in 2027 and the FIFA World Cup in 2034.
