Saudi Water Authority Sponsors Localization of Distributed Control Systems with Demand Exceeding SAR4 Billion by 2030

Riyadh: The Saudi Water Authority launched a project to localize advanced control systems in the water sector in alfanar City, in partnership with alfanar Industrial Company and Rockwell Automation, under the patronage of President of the Saudi Water Authority Eng. Abdullah Al-Abdulkarim. The project is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East and a key pillar for managing and operating water supply chains through advanced systems that enable real-time monitoring of operations, data analysis, and improved operational efficiency and service reliability.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this step contributes to boosting local content and empowering national talent to lead vital technologies, in addition to supporting the growth of advanced industries and reducing reliance on imported solutions, in a direction that enhances the sector's readiness and aligns with development objectives. The authority noted that the expected demand for control systems in water sector projects exceeds SAR4 billion by 2030, supporting economic impact and enhancing investment opportunities in technology industries related to the sector.
