Saudi Water Authority Announces Deadline, Launches Inspection Tours of ‘Ashyab’

Riyadh: The Saudi Water Authority (SWA) announced Tuesday the end of the mandatory deadline for implementing the requirements governing the operation of "Ashyab" water-filling stations, following a corrective period that began last October.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the period, owners and operators of the stations were given the opportunity to complete licensing procedures and comply with the approved regulatory requirements.

The SWA confirmed the commencement of field inspection tours of Ashyab across various regions of the Kingdom to verify their compliance with obtaining official licenses and meeting the approved technical and operational requirements. The efforts form part of the SWA's work to regulate the activity and enhance the reliability of the services provided.

The SWA stated that the inspection tours will lead to the application of legal measures against non-compliant establishments, in accordance with the approved laws and regulations. It also stressed that failure to comply with regulatory requirements or to complete licensing procedures will expose establishments to statutory penalties, thereby ensuring proper oversight of the activity and the protection of beneficiaries.
