Saudi-US Roundtable Held to Strengthen Economic Relations

Riyadh: The Saudi-US Roundtable was held in Riyadh today, alongside the ninth session of the Saudi-US Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) Council, organized by the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT).

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting was attended by GAFT Deputy Governor for International Relations Abdulaziz Alsakran, Secretary-General of the Federation of Saudi Chambers Waleed bin Hamad Al-Oraenan, and Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi-US Business Council Charles Hallab, along with representatives from government entities and 83 private-sector companies.

The roundtable reviewed ways to strengthen economic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States. It explored opportunities for trade and investment cooperation across various sectors that play a key role in developing bilateral trade ties and increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two friendly countries, which reached approximately $33 billion in 2024.

Alsakran noted that the roundtable reflects GAFT's commitment to enhancing the private sector's role in expanding trade relations by enabling access to international markets and removing external barriers, in coordination with relevant entities. He added that trade relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States have experienced strong economic momentum, resulting in total trade exceeding $500 billion over the past decade.
