Saudi-UK Strategic Dialogue on Development and Humanitarian Efforts Concludes in London

London: The high-level session of the third Saudi Arabia-UK Strategic Dialogue on International Development and Humanitarian Assistance concluded Tuesday in London. During the session, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) Senior Advisor for Medical and Humanitarian Research Dr. Ziad Memish highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership between the Kingdom and Britain and its vital role in achieving tangible humanitarian accomplishments globally.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Memish noted that the two-day discussions emphasized a firm commitment to addressing the increasing global humanitarian challenges, as well as identifying important and actionable steps within existing workstreams through the exchange of technical knowledge and a focus on sustainable development. He stressed that the Kingdom, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance and its development and humanitarian arms – the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and KSrelief – views the partnership as a fundamental pillar for advancing humanitarian efforts.

Dr. Memish stated, ‘Our efforts do not stop here; rather, this marks a new starting point. We must build on the progress achieved to create greater impact in both development and humanitarian fields.’ He further emphasized the need for innovative solutions to meet the world’s urgent needs, expressing optimism for a future where the UK’s global influence and expertise are combined with the Kingdom’s extensive and comprehensive humanitarian work to save more lives and improve living conditions on a broader scale.
