Riyadh: Themed ‘Statistics for Sustainable Opportunities,’ the first Saudi Statistics Forum is scheduled to commence on Sunday and Monday, April 27-28, in Riyadh. The event, organized by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), will be held under the auspices of Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Alibrahim. It will feature five specialized panel sessions and will see the attendance of various ministers, representatives from international organizations, statistical offices, as well as local and international experts.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the panel sessions at the forum will address key statistical issues and consolidate concepts of statistical work. These sessions will emphasize the importance of data and statistics in planning and measuring government performance. The forum aims to raise public awareness about the significance of statistics in managing the present and shaping the future, allowing participants to showcase key global statistical methodologies and modern products in the field.
The event is expected to attract over 300 individuals with interests in statistical work. Besides hosting discussions on critical topics in the statistical field, the forum will emphasize the positive impact of the statistics sector in supporting Saudi progress and sustainable development. It will also highlight the role of statistics in measuring progress in Saudi Vision 2030’s indicators, while also raising public awareness about the significance of data and statistics.
