Saudi Red Crescent in Makkah Region Handles Over 202,000 Emergency Calls in First Half of 2026

Riyadh: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in Makkah Region responded to 202,103 emergency calls during the first half of 2026 across the region's governorates.

According to Saudi Press Agency, medical cases accounted for the largest share of responses, totaling 173,282, while SRCA emergency teams handled 28,821 traffic accidents and other incidents. Jeddah recorded the highest number of cases with 93,108, followed by Makkah with 80,963 and Taif with 28,032.

As part of its specialized emergency services, SRCA carried out 450 air ambulance missions, transporting critically ill patients to specialized healthcare facilities.

The emergency teams also responded to 434 heart attack cases through the cardiac care program, including 230 in Jeddah, 173 in Makkah, and 31 in Taif.

For the summer season, SRCA has reinforced ambulance and volunteer deployments and strengthened emergency response operations in areas that attract large numbers of visitors.
