Saudi Municipalities and Housing Projects Intrigue WUF12 Delegations.

Cairo: The 12th edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF12) held in Cairo witnessed a notable gathering of delegations and urban development enthusiasts from across the globe at the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing pavilion. Delegations were drawn to the municipal and housing initiatives in Saudi cities, engaging with numerous innovative projects presented by the ministry during the forum.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the pavilion highlighted the Bahjah project, which aims to expand green spaces and parks and enhance the quality of life in Saudi urban areas. It also showcased cutting-edge technologies and innovations for identifying visual distortions and promoting urban humanization.

Furthermore, the pavilion exhibited infrastructure development projects, emphasizing the shift towards smart municipal services platforms like the Balady application, which enhance the quality of municipal services and streamline access to key destinations and landmarks for residents and visitors of Saudi cities.

ors to the pavilion were acquainted with the ministry’s endeavors to nurture urban communities in Saudi Arabia, increasing the homeownership rate to nearly 64% by providing a range of high-quality housing units within integrated residential neighborhoods and expanding financing options.

Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Baha, Al Ahsa, and the Eastern Region also spotlighted the notable municipal projects endorsed by the ministry to bolster urban development during the forum.

Moreover, the pavilion engaged the ministry’s divisions for housing support, urban planning, residential supply stimulation, real estate development, developmental housing, digital transformation, and allocation and sustainability.

Saudi Arabia is participating in WUF12 through a national pavilion led by the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, featuring the participation of over 30 government and private national entities.

The pavilion comprises an area for meetings, workshops, and dialogues, alongside signing platforms, a VIP zone, and sections
dedicated to participating national entities.
