Riyadh: The Saudi mathematics team won 10 international awards at the 38th Asia Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO 2026), held remotely with the participation of 397 students from 43 countries. The achievement followed an intensive preparation and training program conducted through the Mawhiba International Olympiads Program, implemented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Saudi team earned three bronze medals and seven certificates of appreciation. This accomplishment underscores the advanced level of scientific training attained by the team members and further enhances the Kingdom's presence in international scientific competitions.
With this achievement, Saudi Arabia's total tally at the Asia Pacific Mathematical Olympiad has reached 121 international awards, including three gold medals, 14 silver medals, 52 bronze medals, and 52 certificates of appreciation.
