Saudi Islamic Affairs Minister Meets with Algerian Counterpart

Cairo, Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh in Cairo today met with Algerian Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments Youssef Belmahdi on the sidelines of his current visit to Egypt to participate in the 32nd International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

Discussions during the meeting reviewed efforts exerted by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs in Islamic work, serving Muslims around the world, printing and distributing the Holy Quran, combating hyperbole and hate speech, spreading moderation, and keenness to further deepen constructive and fruitful cooperation with various ministries of Islamic affairs and Islamic sheikhdoms in the world to realize its supreme message.

For his part, Belmahdi referred to the efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in serving Islam and Muslims and the utmost care of pilgrims and Umrah performers, praising the historical positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards Algeria and supporting it in various fields.

Belmahdi also stressed that Algeria stands with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and suppots its stances and always condemns the recurrent attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi militia, adding that attacks on Saudi Arabia are attacks on all other Islamic countries.

The minister also praised efforts exerted by His Royal Highness the Saudi Crown Prince in making a big leap and devastating development for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the entire world with his sharp vision and keenness to spread moderation, combat hate speech, enhance the culture of tolerance, and launch the Middle East Green Initiative and Saudi Green Initiative, stressing keenness of the Algerian government to further enhance constructive and fruitful cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in various fields.

At the end of the meeting, Sheikh Dr. Al-Sheikh offered Belmahdi a copy of the Holy Quran from the publications of the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran.
