Saudi Food Show Opens in Riyadh, Fostering Innovation and Food Security

Riyadh: The third edition of the Saudi Food Show commenced yesterday under the patronage of Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef and in partnership with the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON). In his opening address delivered on behalf of Alkhorayef, MODON CEO Eng. Majed Al-Argoubi emphasized the event’s pivotal role in fostering innovation and advancing food industries, thereby contributing to food security and enhancing the Kingdom’s regional and global competitiveness.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event featured engaging dialogue sessions, uniting prominent leaders and experts from the industrial and food sectors. The main session centered on the transformation of the Kingdom’s food industry, emphasizing sector integration towards achieving Vision 2030. Discussions also focused on strengthening inter-sectoral collaboration to support food industry growth, achieve sustainability, and ensure food security according to international standards.

The second session addressed enabling food security and industrial sustainability in Saudi Arabia, focusing on strategies to bolster food industries, develop industrial supply chains, and promote investment opportunities for sustainable food security.

During the event, MODON signed ten industrial, logistical, and investment agreements with the private sector, totaling SAR350 million. This underscores the authority’s commitment to developing industrial infrastructure and fostering an integrated and attractive business environment for local and international investments, aligning with the National Industrial Strategy and Vision 2030’s industrial development objectives.

The Saudi Food Show stands as the Kingdom’s premier food industry event, bringing together approximately 1,300 exhibiting companies from 100 countries and leading experts and innovators to showcase the latest food and beverage products and technologies.
