Madrid: The Film Commission is hosting 'Saudi Film Nights' in the Kingdom of Spain from April 22 to 28. The event organizes a series of cinematic screenings across Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville, presenting exemplary models of contemporary Saudi cinematic experiences and highlighting their artistic diversity.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the organization of 'Saudi Film Nights' in Spain reflects the country's influential presence in the European cinematic landscape and its deep-rooted history in filmmaking. The event also provides valuable opportunities for cultural exchange, fostering communication and collaboration between filmmakers in Saudi Arabia and Spain, and introducing Saudi films to unfamiliar audiences in Spain.

'Saudi Film Nights' features five screenings of a curated selection of four Saudi films, comprising two feature-length and two short films: Hobal, Mera Mera Mera, Gum, and Hijra. These selected works reflect the Kingdom's cultural and social dimensions through the singular artistic visions and diverse perspectives of their filmmakers.

The event will also feature the participation of several Saudi filmmakers, who will take part in open panel discussions. This engagement contributes to strengthening cultural exchange and deepening the creative cinematic dialogue between the two sides.

The screenings will launch in Madrid, before moving to Barcelona and concluding in Seville. They will be hosted at Cines Golem in Madrid, Cines Renoir Floridablanca in Barcelona, and Odeon Plaza de Armas in Seville. Known for attracting audiences with an interest in world and arthouse cinema, these venues offer Saudi films the opportunity to reach a diverse European audience.
