Washington:Saudi Ambassador to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, held a reception at the Saudi Embassy in Washington, D.C., in honor of Dr. Hanan Balkhy. Dr. Balkhy is the Kingdom's candidate for the position of World Health Organization director-general. The event took place alongside the meetings of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ambassador praised Dr. Balkhy for her distinguished career and extensive expertise in public and global health. She noted that these qualifications enhance Dr. Balkhy's suitability for the role of WHO director-general.
The reception included discussions on significant global health issues and challenges. Attendees emphasized the importance of enhancing international cooperation to bolster health systems and achieve sustainable health outcomes.
