Saudi Arabia Wins Six Medals at Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad 2026

Riyadh: The Saudi mathematics team achieved six international medals at the 30th Junior Balkan Mathematical Olympiad (JBMO 2026), held in Romania from June 15 to 20, with the participation of over 130 students from 23 countries. The Kingdom won one gold, two silver, and three bronze medals.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the gold medal was secured by student Hussein Abdullah Al Omran from the Eastern Region. The silver medals went to Faris Mohammed Al-Kanhal from Riyadh and Anwar Hussam Ghoneim from Tabuk. The bronze medals were won by Jawad Mohammed Al-Nasser from Al-Ahsa, Moamal Siraj Al-Sihati from the Eastern Region, and Mohsen Maher Khan from Jeddah.

With this result, Saudi Arabia's total medal tally in the JBMO has risen to 75 medals since its participation began, under the supervision of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
