Saudi Arabia Welcomes U.S. Move to Revoke Syria’s Terrorism Sponsor Status

Riyadh: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed Saudi Arabia's welcome of the United States' announcement that it has begun procedures to remove the Syrian Arab Republic from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, a designation imposed in 1979.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom reaffirmed its support for all positive steps taken by the Syrian government to enhance the country's security and stability, build state institutions, and fulfill the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people for a more stable and prosperous Syria.
