Riyadh: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement today expressing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcoming of the ceasefire in Lebanon. The Kingdom expressed its appreciation for all international efforts in this regard and hopes that this will lead to the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701, which preserves Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and stability and ensures the safe return of displaced persons to their homes.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in resolving the conflict. The Kingdom reiterated its support for measures that ensure the safety and security of the Lebanese people and the return of displaced persons to their rightful homes.

The statement also highlighted Saudi Arabia’s appreciation for the concerted efforts of the international community in facilitating the ceasefire, ackno
wledging the critical role of diplomatic channels and international resolutions in achieving a sustainable peace. The Kingdom remains hopeful that the ceasefire will pave the way for broader discussions and initiatives aimed at ensuring long-term peace and stability within Lebanon and the region.
