Saudi Arabia is set to host the Donor Conference to Support Displaced People and Refugees in the Sahel and Lake Chad Region at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) headquarters in Jeddah next Saturday.
The conference is being organized by the OIC in collaboration with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
The event takes place during the implementation of a resolution by the 49th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
The conference will feature a high-level session focusing on the humanitarian challenges in the Sahel and Lake Chad region, with participation from various distinguished speakers.
Key objectives of the conference include raising awareness about the displacement and refugee crisis in this critical part of Africa, mobilizing financial resources for immediate humanitarian response, and addressing future challenges in the region
