Jeddah: Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Arabia will host the 17th General Assembly of the Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) from September 12 to 16, 2027, in Jeddah, Makkah Region. The event, organized by the General Court of Audit (GCA), is set to be a significant gathering for leaders and heads of supreme audit institutions across Asia.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the ASOSAI General Assembly is considered the largest event of its kind in Asia. It will gather 48 heads of supreme audit institutions, along with over 200 participants and representatives from international and regional organizations engaged in auditing and accounting. Among these organizations is the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), from which ASOSAI originated.

President of GCA Dr. Hussam Alangari expressed his gratitude to King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for their royal patronage, emphasizing the event's importance in Saudi Arabia's leadership on regional and international levels. He highlighted that this patronage reflects the country's commitment to enhancing international cooperation in various fields.

Dr. Alangari also noted that hosting the event signifies the international community's confidence in Saudi Arabia's leadership and recognizes the country's significant role in supporting the auditing and accounting professions. Saudi Arabia, represented by GCA, will assume the chairmanship of ASOSAI for 2027-2030, further cementing its leadership position.

GCA is committed to ensuring that the upcoming General Assembly marks a pivotal moment in ASOSAI's history. The session aims to shape the organization's future, advance cooperation, and promote joint action among its member supreme audit institutions to achieve ASOSAI's objectives and support the goals of audit institutions across Asia.
