Rome:Saudi Arabia, through the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC), will take part in the 28th Session of the Committee on Forestry (COFO28) organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The event will take place in Rome, Italy, from September 28 to October 2, 2026.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the COFO28 session will run alongside the 10th World Forest Week, focusing on the theme "Forests for Food, Resilience and Prosperity."
Saudi Arabia's participation underscores its active involvement in regional and international forums addressing forest issues and its contribution to global discussions on sustainable forest management and ecosystem restoration.
The Kingdom will present its strategies and experiences in managing forests sustainably and restoring ecosystems, which are designed to boost ecosystem efficiency and resilience.
This event aligns with Saudi Arabia's role as chair of the 26th Session of the Near East Forestry and Range Commission (NEFRC) from September 2025 to August 2027.
