Saudi Arabia Showcases Entrepreneurial Initiatives at G20 Startup20 Summit in Johannesburg

Johannesburg: The G20 Startup20 Summit commenced on Thursday in Johannesburg, South Africa, with a Saudi delegation headed by Prince Fahad bin Mansour bin Nasser, President of the Saudi G20 Startup20. The event, backed by NEOM, features participation from government entities, private sectors, and non-profit organizations involved in entrepreneurship and innovation.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Saudi Arabia’s involvement highlights its prominent role within the G20 and its continuous efforts to empower entrepreneurs, support startups, and strengthen its presence in global forums centered on innovation and sustainable development.

The summit introduced a Saudi pavilion that exhibits the Kingdom’s achievements and investment prospects in entrepreneurship. The pavilion emphasizes national projects, the Saudi entrepreneurial ecosystem, startups, and investors, particularly focusing on technology, energy, and the creative economy.

The Saudi delegation also conducted interactive workshops aimed at sharing experiences in enabling startups and exploring cooperative opportunities with other countries to build sustainable and globally impactful business ecosystems.

Prince Fahad bin Mansour, in his address, emphasized the significance of sustained support for innovation and entrepreneurship as fundamental elements for realizing the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. He remarked that the Kingdom’s accomplishments in this domain reflect the maturity and global competitiveness of its entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The summit progresses with wide participation from entrepreneurship leaders and representatives from G20 member states to deliberate on the future of startups, mechanisms to support them in addressing global challenges, and ways to foster growth and positive impact.
