Saudi arabia: Saudi Arabia, represented by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST), participated in the World Telecommunication/ICT Policy Forum 2026 (WTPF-26), organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and opened by Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas Philip Davis with the participation of policymakers and representatives from regulatory authorities, the private sector, academies, and international organizations.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom has been appointed as vice chair of the forum, recognizing its contributions throughout the two-year preparations for the forum, serving as Vice-Chair of the Informal Group of Experts (IEG-WTPF-26) and led several tracks and subgroups addressing the forum's key themes and its contributions to shaping its direction and outcomes.

The forum addressed the future of digital policy amid the accelerating technological developments, bridging the digital divide, sustainable digital transformation, ICT resilience, and space connectivity, as well as supporting innovation and technology entrepreneurship and promoting international collaboration in addressing emerging challenges.

The participation highlights the Kingdom's efforts since joining the ITU, leveraging its capabilities and expertise to support the union's efforts and serve the international community, contributing to the advancement of the ICT sector and strengthening international collaboration in the digital domain. The World Telecommunication/ICT Policy Forum (WTPF) is a high-level international event for building consensus, exchanging expertise, and developing shared perspectives on the future of digital policy.
