Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art Presents Blufunk Evening at Diriyah’s JAX District

Riyadh: The Saudi Arabia Museum of Contemporary Art (SAMoCA), affiliated with the Museums Commission, presented an artistic performance featuring Nigerian artist Keziah Jones, pioneer of the ‘Blufunk’ genre, as part of the SAFAR program event series held in the JAX District, Diriyah. The show unveils for the first time an artistic style that transcends traditional music genres, aiming to foster cultural dialogue through live performances that highlight creative diversity and open spaces for artistic exchange between cultures.

According to Saudi Press Agency, SAFAR will host a training workshop on December 7 that addresses the interactive experience of reproducing Arab artistic heritage using modern technologies and programs, transforming classical pieces from the 1950s into contemporary electronic audio-visual works. The program will conclude its activities for this season on December 8 with a visual performance focusing on electronic music and cinematic visual scenes.
