Riyadh: World Heart Day, observed annually on September 29 by countries around the globe, including the Kingdom, serves as a key educational platform to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases and their associated risk factors. The day aims to inspire individuals and communities to adopt healthier lifestyles that support heart health and help reduce mortality from cardiovascular conditions, which remain the leading cause of death worldwide.
According to Saudi Press Agency, in support of this global initiative, the Ministry of Health has launched various awareness and educational campaigns to highlight the dangers of heart disease. These efforts include providing medical advice and information on managing heart conditions and preventing their onset. One key message emphasizes the importance of regular physical activity, such as exercising for at least 30 minutes daily, which significantly lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease.
The ministry also collaborates with health, education, and social sectors to promote a culture of prevention and reduce the incidence of heart disease within the community.
