Riyadh: Saudi Arabia inaugurated on Tuesday the fourth terminal of the Makkah Route Initiative in the Republic of Indonesia, at the initiative lounge at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, where the first flights of beneficiaries departed for Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative aims to provide high-quality services to pilgrims from beneficiary countries traveling to the Kingdom. This includes receiving pilgrims and completing their procedures in their home countries with ease, from issuing Hajj visas electronically and capturing biometric data to facilitating the General Directorate of Passports' completion of entry procedures at the departure airport after verifying health requirements.
It also entails tagging and sorting luggage according to transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom, enabling pilgrims to proceed directly to buses transporting them to their residences in Makkah and Madinah via designated routes, while partner entities handle the delivery of their luggage to those accommodations.
