Jeddah: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has hosted the first meeting of Arab maritime authorities, in coordination with the International Maritime Organization (IMO), on the sidelines of the second Sustainable Maritime Industry Conference (SIMC25).
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting aimed to unify efforts and strengthen technical cooperation between Arab maritime authorities and the IMO, within the framework of developing joint programs and partnerships that enhance the efficiency of Arab maritime operations and support sustainability and sector development.
This hosting was led by Maritime Transport Deputy of Transport General Authority Eng. Essam Al-Amari, and Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the IMO Eng. Kamal Al-Junaidi, both of whom played a pivotal role in organizing this important meeting. The efforts were instrumental in creating an effective dialogue environment that enhanced coordination and integration among Arab authorities and opened avenues for regional and international cooperation.
The meeting forms part of SIMC25, a global platform that brings together leaders, decision-makers, and experts in maritime transport and logistics, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering innovation and promoting sustainable development in the maritime transport sector.
