Saudi Arabia Endorses Gaza Agreement as Initial Step in Trump’s Peace Plan

Riyadh: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s endorsement of a newly reached agreement concerning Gaza, marking the initiation of the first phase of President Trump’s peace proposal aimed at ending the conflict in the Gaza Strip and establishing a foundation for a comprehensive and just peace.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom has acknowledged the significant role played by U.S. President Donald Trump, alongside the mediation efforts conducted by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Trkiye in facilitating this agreement. The Ministry noted that these diplomatic endeavors have been instrumental in reaching the current accord.

The Kingdom has expressed optimism that this crucial development will prompt immediate measures to alleviate the humanitarian distress faced by the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip. Furthermore, it hopes that this will lead to a complete Israeli withdrawal, thereby restoring security and stability in the region. The Ministry also highlighted the necessity of taking concrete steps towards achieving a just and comprehensive peace, based on the two-state solution. This includes the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital, in line with relevant United Nations resolutions, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.
