New York:Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil, actively participated in a high-level dialogue focused on crisis management and recovery. This event was organized by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of Lebanon, the European Union Delegation in Lebanon, and the United Nations Development Programme in Lebanon. The dialogue saw the attendance of Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam, alongside senior officials, representatives from various countries, international organizations, financial institutions, and the private sector.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the dialogue stressed the importance of adopting an integrated approach to crisis management. It discussed linking urgent humanitarian responses with recovery and development pathways to strengthen the resilience of countries and communities. The central role of national institutions in leading recovery efforts and directing international support to build capacity was emphasized.
Participants explored ways to enhance partnerships among governments, the United Nations, international financial institutions, and the private sector. The need for flexible, sustainable financing was highlighted to help countries overcome recurring crises and support the seamless transition from emergency response to recovery and reconstruction.
Saudi Arabia's vision for integrating humanitarian and development efforts was showcased, reaffirming the Kingdom's ongoing support for crisis-affected countries and communities. The dialogue underscored Saudi Arabia's commitment to helping these nations move from addressing urgent needs to achieving recovery and sustainable development.
The Kingdom also reiterated its support for Lebanon's stability, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, along with efforts to strengthen state institutions, reform, and economic recovery. Saudi Arabia committed to working with partners to transform crisis response into sustainable development and stability pathways, ensuring these initiatives align with national priorities and place people at the center of efforts.
