Saudi Arabia Elected to Prominent Roles in Global Health and Development

Riyadh: The Muslim World League has extended its congratulations to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on its recent elections to two significant international positions. Saudi Arabia has been elected as Vice-President of the World Health Organization’s Executive Board and selected as a member of the UN High-Level Group for Partnership, Coordination, and Capacity-Building for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Muslim World League’s General Secretariat released a statement where His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, Secretary General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, expressed that these appointments reflect the international community’s confidence in Saudi Arabia. He emphasized that the roles are a recognition of the Kingdom’s significant contributions to global issues and its active participation as a member of the international community.

The League highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s new positions will enable it to further influence and contribute to the global health sector and sustainable development initiatives. These appointments are seen as a testament to the Kingdom’s leadership and its ongoing commitment to addressing global challenges through collaboration and strategic partnerships.
