Riyadh: On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, celebrated annually on December 3, local and global efforts have enhanced the understanding of disability issues and mobilized efforts to secure the rights of persons with disabilities while promoting their active participation in society.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia prioritizes empowering persons with disabilities as a key aspect of improving quality of life, in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, by developing accessible infrastructure, implementing various initiatives, and collaborating with relevant associations and organizations.
The Authority for the Care of People with Disabilities affirmed the Kingdom’s role in caring for and supporting people with disabilities, embracing this vital segment of society, empowering them to achieve their aspirations for the future, improving their quality of life, removing obstacles and barriers that hinder their potential, and fully integrating them into all aspects of life.
Additionally, the authority launched a campaign to raise awareness of invisible disabilities, such as psychological challenges, sensory difficulties, mild motor impairments, and other conditions that are often misunderstood or ignored in society.
