Riyadh: The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) contributed to the development of the international report 'AI Ready - Analysis Towards a Standardized Readiness Framework,' issued by the UN International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
According to Saudi Press Agency, the report is a significant reference for measuring countries' preparedness to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. SDAIA's involvement was part of a global team of over 80 experts from 38 countries who collaborated to create a standardized framework. This framework is designed to help nations evaluate their capabilities and enhance their AI readiness on methodological and sustainable grounds.
The report presents a standardized AI readiness framework developed by the ITU. This is part of a global initiative to assess the ability of countries and institutions to utilize AI technologies effectively. It emphasizes evaluating real-world readiness, focusing on building sustainable and applicable systems adaptable to various national contexts.
Key foundational dimensions essential to any national AI ecosystem are outlined in the report. These include data, digital infrastructure, digital skills, innovation systems, and AI policies. Saudi Arabia's participation highlights its increasing role in international forums and its active contribution to shaping global trends related to data and AI. This reflects the country's commitment to enhancing global cooperation and building reliable and integrated digital systems.
The initiative also underscores SDAIA's efforts to support international initiatives, boost the Kingdom's presence in AI governance, and contribute to developing relevant global standards, aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
