Saudi Arabia Celebrates World Prematurity Day with Nationwide Awareness Initiatives

Riyadh: World Prematurity Day is observed annually on November 17 to raise awareness of health challenges faced by infants born before 37 weeks of gestation. It highlights the need for specialized medical care from birth and highlights strategies for preventing complications associated with preterm birth.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Ministry of Health is committed to providing exemplary medical services for preterm infants, equipping neonatal intensive care units with advanced medical devices to facilitate their care during this critical period.

To mark World Prematurity Day, hospitals and primary healthcare centers are organizing awareness events, including lectures, medical booths, support sessions, and success stories of preterm infants who thrived through advanced care.
