According to Saudi Press Agency, discussions during the meeting centered on mutual priorities such as security, defense, trade, investment, and cultural exchanges. The highlight of the visit was the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish the Saudi-Spanish Strategic Partnership Council. Additionally, both countries signed an agreement for mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic, special, and service passports.
Both ministers expressed satisfaction with the progress in bilateral relations and emphasized their commitment to expanding the strategic partnership further. They exchanged views on regional and international issues, addressing the escalating tensions in the region and stressing the importance of diplomatic solutions. The discussions included a focus on consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza, Iran, and Lebanon, and ensuring security in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Spanish government reiterated its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its regional allies in the face of recent attacks. Spain commended Saudi Arabia's balanced approach and its calls for de-escalation. In turn, Saudi Arabia praised Spain's stance on Middle Eastern issues, including its condemnation of Iranian and Israeli aggressions and its support for the two-state solution in the Palestinian conflict.
