Jeddah:Saudi Arabia's national football team is set to face Oman on Saturday at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in the second round of Group A at the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup.
According to Saudi Press Agency, both teams are aiming for a spot in the semifinals. Saudi Arabia currently leads the group with three points after a 1-0 victory over Kuwait in the opening round, while Oman has one point following a 1-1 draw with Iraq.
A win for Saudi Arabia would secure their place in the semifinals with six points, even before their final group match against Iraq. The Saudi team showed strong performance in their first match, supported by enthusiastic fans, despite missing several scoring opportunities.
Oman, in contrast, is seeking its first win of the tournament to boost its chances of advancing. A draw would still leave Oman in contention, as they managed to come back from an early deficit against Iraq to earn a valuable point, keeping their hopes alive for one of the group's two qualifying spots.
