Saudi Achievement … ETEC Launches “Alif-Ya Digital Intelligence Scale” Using Interactive Gaming

The Education and Training Evaluation Commission (ETEC) has launched the "Alif–Ya Digital Intelligence Scale," which is not only the world's first global interactive digital intelligence scale but also the first Arabic intelligence scale developed in Saudi Arabia. This groundbreaking scale caters to age groups ranging from 5 to 18 years old.

Utilizing interactive computer games, the scale has been designed to provide immediate results upon completion of the assessment. In response to the rapid pace of digital advancements, there arose a necessity for a new intelligence scale infused with local characteristics. To address this, the ETEC collaborated with the University of Houston and Yale University to develop the "Alif–Ya Digital Intelligence Scale," a computer-based test targeting Arab, Gulf, and Saudi communities.

The primary purpose of this scale is to measure general intelligence, identify gifted individuals, detect memory and attention disorders, and identify learning and language difficulties, autism, as well as provide clinical diagnoses for neurological and psychological disorders. Furthermore, it aims to assist educational, guidance, and therapeutic institutions in fulfilling their roles effectively.

The "Alif–Ya Digital Intelligence Scale" is an individualized scale that measures general intelligence and abilities, serving as a comprehensive intelligence quotient (IQ) assessment for the specified age groups. Notably, it comprises 47 sub-tests, which is a substantial increase of 261% in comparison to international standards. Furthermore, it has the potential for remote application in the future, eliminating the need for extensive preparation time and effort.

The scale encompasses cognitive, neural, and psychological elements and takes the form of captivating computer games. It adjusts to the examinee's level, helping to alleviate anxiety, and automatically stores data to benefit users and conduct scientific research.
