Riyadh: Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) achieved a local content score of 67.35% in 2025, surpassing its annual target and reflecting the success of its efforts to maximize local content, expand the participation of Saudi suppliers and manufacturers, and strengthen a sustainable national railway ecosystem.

According to Saudi Press Agency, SAR also recorded a 22.3% increase in local added value compared with 2024, underscoring the effectiveness of its strategy to increase reliance on national products and services, enhance private-sector participation in its projects and operations, and localize industries and services related to the railway sector.

The achievement earned SAR the Local Content Certificate from the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority in recognition of its success in meeting local content targets and increasing its contribution to the national economy.

SAR CEO Dr. Bashar Al-Malik said exceeding the 2025 local content target by more than 7% reflects the company's successful strategy to maximize local content and generate greater value for the national economy by expanding the role of local suppliers and manufacturers, empowering the private sector, and advancing the localization of railway-related industries and services.

The achievement reinforces SAR's commitment to further increasing local content and supporting the localization of railway industries and services, in line with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.
