Saudi Air Navigation Services Company (SANS) hosted on Sunday the 13th meeting of the MIDANPIRG Communication, Navigation and Surveillance Sub-Group (CNS SG/13) and the 10th Meeting of the MIDANPIRG Air Traffic Management Sub-Group, for the first time in the Kingdom, and under the supervision of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
Over 80 participants from 18 countries, and representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), and PCCW Global attended the event.
The meeting of the working group of the Flight and Flow Information for a Collaborative Environment (FF-ICE) was held under the umbrella of the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council to discuss practical solutions and effective strategies to achieve common goals.
Hosting these meetings underscores SANS’s role in fostering effective participation and adopting innovative solutions to improve air traffic management in the Middle East. The event was held jus
t ahead of the International Day of the Air Traffic Controller, marked on October 20 every year to celebrate air traffic controllers for their critical role in ensuring safe air navigation.
SANS commemorated the International Day of the Air Traffic Controller with representatives from international and regional civil avth iation organizations and over 700 Saudi air traffic controllers.
