Riyadh: SABIC announced in a press release yesterday the signing of a memorandum of understanding with CEER to explore opportunities for collaboration in applying SABIC's advanced materials and innovative solutions in the design, development, and manufacture of CEER's electric vehicles. The MoU also aims to evaluate mutually beneficial commercial opportunities and define the terms of potential collaboration. According to Saudi Press Agency, the MoU provides a framework for developing and innovating solutions and products through evaluating the possible use of SABIC's advanced materials in some of CEER's vehicle applications and jointly developing material and processing solutions that fulfill industry needs. It also aims to share knowledge and experience on sustainability and technology to support CEER objectives in product development, explore potential strategic sourcing opportunities to build a local supply chain with global standards for the emerging local EV sector, and identify and pursue additional ar eas of mutually agreed collaboration. Commenting on the agreement, Alfaqeer said, 'The memorandum represents a strategic collaboration which leverages SABIC's global expertise in advanced material solutions for the electric vehicle industry.
