Riyadh Welcomes Saudi Science Team After 23 ISEF Wins

Riyadh: The Saudi science and engineering team returned to a hero’s welcome at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh after earning top honors at the 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), held May 10-16 in Columbus, Ohio.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the team included 40 male and female students who presented projects in high-potential scientific fields. They won 23 international awards-14 grand prizes and nine special awards-after competing against more than 1,700 students from 70 countries at the world’s largest science and engineering fair for pre-university students.

Acting Secretary-General of King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and head of the Saudi delegation Dr. Khalid Al-Sharif congratulated the students and praised their performance, noting that their projects stood out on the global stage. He said the achievement is a source of national pride and reflects the promising talent of Saudi youth in shaping a future driven by science, technology, and innovation.

Al-Sharif added that winning 23 awards at ISEF 2025 is the result of close coordination between Mawhiba, the Ministry of Education, and other strategic partners. He emphasized that this outcome reflects the strong support of Saudi leadership for education and innovation, and showcases the Kingdom’s rising stature in international scientific platforms.
