Riyadh: Under the patronage of Minister of Communications and Information Technology and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) Abdullah Alswaha, the CST, in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), is organizing the Global Space Connectivity and Sustainability Events in Riyadh from October 12-14, 2026. The event will merge the Connecting the World from the Skies Forum and the Space Sustainability Forum (SSF), both in their third editions, under a single umbrella.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event aims to gather regulatory bodies, companies, specialists, and experts in the telecom and space sectors to explore the future of satellite connectivity. Participants will discuss the integration of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks and the sector's leading directions and challenges. Sessions will cover topics such as Integrated Connectivity for the 6G Era, Paving the Way to WRC-27, and Unlocking the Potential of D2D Connectivity. Other sessions will focus on Space Economies and Emerging Markets, Space as Critical Infrastructure, Space-Enabled Sustainability on Earth, Global Governance and Responsible Behavior in Space, and Managing Congestion, Mitigating Interference and Preventing Debris.

The event will also announce the winners of the Non-Terrestrial Networks International Research Competition 2026, organized by the CST in partnership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The CST invites interested specialists, researchers, and relevant parties to register, attend the event, and participate in its sessions to exchange knowledge, expertise, and build partnerships in telecommunications, space, and sustainability fields.
