Riyadh to Host 45 Ministers, Leading Experts from 100 Countries at Global Labor Market Conference

Riyadh: Riyadh is set to host the second edition of the Global Labor Market Conference from January 29 to 30, under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with 45 labor ministers and leading experts from G20 countries, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas gathering for the international ministerial meeting.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the conference will be chaired by Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi and will focus on future policies and trends in labor markets, address challenges related to youth employment, and highlight innovative initiatives aimed at increasing youth participation in the global economy.

It will present a unique opportunity to unify international efforts in tackling unemployment and youth employment issues, as well as to discuss ways to develop policies that align with the evolving needs of labor markets amid rapid economic and technological transformations.

Vice Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor Dr. Abdullah Abuthnain said the meeting seeks to leverage the capabilities, knowledge, and expertise of global participants, serving as a platform for cooperation and collaboration to enhance policies and legislation, improve work environments, and address existing challenges. The outcomes of these efforts are expected to positively impact not only the Saudi labor market but also global markets as a whole, he added.

The Global Labor Market Conference is held in partnership with the International Labour Organization, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and the Misk Foundation. It features the participation of more than 200 speakers from over 100 countries and seeks to lead global discussions on the future of labor markets, establishing itself as a key platform for research, dialogue, and knowledge-sharing, and contributing to the creation of a comprehensive global labor market ecosystem.
