Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz was handed over this year's Saudi Games torch at Al-Hukm Palace today. The handing of the torch is part of a promotional tour for the Kingdom's largest national sporting event. The governor said in a statement: "The Saudi Games reflects our pride in the Kingdom's development in sports, as this torch demonstrates the determination of our youths and athletes, and represents a symbol of the unity of the Saudi people." He added that the event is proof of the leadership's support for sports and athletes, which, in turn, contributes to Saudi sportspersons excelling in the local and global arena. The Saudi Games brings outstanding contenders from different regions of the Kingdom, strengthens fair competition, refines participants' skills, and reflects the sporting values that people believe in.
