Riyadh Art Brings Creativity to the Heart of the City’s Public Spaces

Riyadh: The Riyadh Art program integrates permanent artworks into the city's daily urban landscape, placing them along pedestrian bridges, metro stations, streets, squares, parks, and public transit stations, making art part of residents' and visitors' everyday experience rather than a separate destination.

According to Saudi Press Agency, among the program's installations are 'Run Beyond' by Italian artist Angelo Bonello, located on a pedestrian bridge over King Abdulaziz Road, and 'Family Tree' by Indian artist Subodh Gupta in the King Abdullah Financial District, which uses stainless-steel utensils to evoke everyday memories.

The program's permanent collection features works by Saudi and international artists distributed across Riyadh, reflecting a global trend that views public art as an integral element of urban planning.

Through this approach, Riyadh's urban infrastructure becomes a canvas for artistic expression, transforming the city into a more vibrant and interactive public space where art is woven into the fabric of daily life.
